This policy explains what personal information we collect when you register, play, make a payment or contact us, what we do with it and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to players in the United Kingdom using our site and your account with us.
We are the controller of the information described below, which means we decide what is collected and why, and we are answerable for keeping it secure. Because we hold a gaming licence, some of this processing is not optional: we must confirm that every customer is old enough to play and is who they say they are. If the information we need is not provided, we cannot open your account or let play continue.
18+ only
Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We check age at registration and may repeat that check at any time while your account is open.
If we change how we use your information in a way that affects you, we will tell you by e-mail or by a notice in your account before the change takes effect.
The information we collect about you
Most of what we hold comes from you, when you register, verify your account, make a payment or write to us. The rest is created by our systems as you use the site, or returned to us by the partners that confirm identity and screen payments.
- Account details. Your name, date of birth, address, e-mail address, mobile number, username, an encrypted form of your password, and the contact preferences and limits shown in your account.
- Verification documents. Copies of the identity, address and, where it applies, source of funds documents you upload or we request, together with the outcome of each check and the record we must keep of it.
- Payments and transactions. Deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, balances and the payment methods registered in the cashier. Full card numbers are held by our payment providers, not on our own systems.
- Play and account activity. Games played, stakes, wins and losses, session lengths, the limits and time-outs you set, self-exclusion requests and any safer gambling contact between us.
- Device and usage data. IP address, the approximate location it indicates, device, browser and operating system, language, the pages and features you use, and cookie identifiers.
- Messages. E-mails to our support address and live chat transcripts, including the notes our team adds when looking into a question or a complaint.
Why we use your information, and the legal basis for each use
Data protection law requires a lawful reason for every use of your personal information. In plain words, we rely on four: we need it to provide what you asked for under our terms (contract); the law requires us to hold or check it (legal obligation); you have told us we may use it (consent); or we have a sensible business reason that does not override your rights, such as keeping the site secure (legitimate interests). Where information is more sensitive, for example details that come up in a safer gambling conversation, we use it only where the law allows that in the substantial public interest or with your explicit consent.
| What we use it for | What that involves | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Running your account | Registration, deposits and withdrawals, game play, balances and account history | Contract |
| Age and identity verification | Checking the details and documents you give us before and during play | Legal obligation |
| Preventing fraud and money laundering | Monitoring transactions and account behaviour, and keeping records of checks | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
| Safer gambling | Applying the limits you set, acting on time-outs and exclusions, and watching for signs of harm | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
| Support and complaints | Answering e-mails and live chat and keeping notes of what was agreed | Contract and legitimate interests |
| Marketing you opted into | Sending offers through the channels you agreed to and measuring what you opened | Consent |
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time in your account settings, through the unsubscribe option in any message, or by writing to us. That does not affect the processing we must carry out to run your account and meet our legal duties.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where a purpose above needs it, and only with organisations bound to keep it confidential and to use it on our instructions.
- Payment and banking providers, so that deposits and withdrawals can be processed and matched to your account.
- Identity, age and address verification partners, which compare your details against their records and return a result to us.
- Fraud prevention and anti-money laundering services, which help us check transactions and spot accounts used by someone other than the holder.
- Platform, game and hosting suppliers, which run parts of the service for us under written agreements.
- Regulators, courts and other authorities, where the law requires disclosure or where we must report a suspicion we are not permitted to discuss with you.
- Self-exclusion schemes, including GamStop, where you ask to be excluded or where a registration must be passed on.
Where a provider holds information outside the United Kingdom, we put in place the safeguards recognised by UK data protection law so that it keeps a similar level of protection wherever it is handled.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for the period the law and our licence conditions require us to retain customer, payment and verification records. We cannot shorten that period on request.
Some records follow their own timetable. Self-exclusion records are kept for as long as needed to keep the exclusion effective. Complaint files and the notes behind a decision are kept so that we can show how a matter was handled if it is looked into later. Marketing preferences, including an unsubscribe, are kept so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
Once information is no longer needed for any of these purposes, we delete it or hold it in a form that no longer identifies you.
Your rights, cookies and how to contact us about privacy
UK data protection law gives you a set of rights over the information we hold about you. They are summarised below in the order players most often use them.
- Access. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, together with an explanation of where it came from and how it is used.
- Correction. You can ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate and to complete anything that is missing from your records.
- Erasure. You can ask us to delete personal information that we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Restriction. You can ask us to pause our use of your information while a question about its accuracy, or about our basis for holding it, is settled.
- Objection. You can object to processing we carry out for our own legitimate interests, including the profiling we use to decide which offers you are shown.
- Portability. You can ask us to provide the information you gave us, to you or to another provider, in a commonly used electronic format.
- Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw any consent you have given us, such as consent to marketing, at any time and without giving a reason.
To use any of these rights, write to privacy@casinomrmega.co.uk or support@casinomrmega.co.uk, or start a live chat on the site. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that account information is not disclosed to the wrong person. We answer within the time data protection law allows and will tell you if a complex request needs longer. Some rights have limits: we cannot delete records we are required to keep, and we cannot restart marketing while an exclusion is in place.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection. We ask you to raise the matter with us first so that we have the chance to put it right.
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your settings, measure how pages are used and support fraud prevention, and, where you agree, to measure marketing. You can set your preferences when you arrive and change them at any time; what each type does and how long it lasts is set out in our Cookie Policy.
